URL to package name generator
Your app's package name is permanent once it's on Google Play. Generate one from your domain that's valid, readable and clearly yours.
The reverse-domain convention
Android package names reverse your domain so they're globally unique: shop.example.com becomes com.example.shop. Hyphens aren't allowed, so they become underscores; segments can't start with digits or be Java keywords.
Choose carefully
On Google Play the package name is the app's identity forever — changing it means a new listing. It doesn't have to match your domain exactly, but it should be something you'll still be happy with in five years.
FAQ
Can two apps have the same package name?
Not on Google Play, and not installed on the same phone. That's why the reverse-domain convention exists.
Can I change the package name later?
Not for a published Play app. A new package name is a new app.
